Announcing the CHC Fellowship Award of Excellence: Dr. Eliane Mbende from Cameroon
Following a highly competitive contest, we hereby announce that Dr. Eliane Mbende from Cameroon has been awarded the prestigious CHC Fellowship Award of Excellence for the best capstone project, which brought an end to the four-week intensive fellowship. This accolade is in recognition of her outstanding performance and significant contributions during the Community Health Champions Fellowship, Cohort 1, culminating in an exemplary capstone project.
The Community Health Champions Fellowship is dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds with essential public health principles, strategic community engagement skills, and project management expertise. The fellowship aims to develop leaders who can drive impactful health initiatives in their communities.
Dr. Eliane Mbende stood out among her peers with her unwavering commitment, innovative approach, and exemplary leadership throughout the fellowship. Her capstone project focused on health promotion in the rural community of Lindoi. She also conducted health talks on oral health, screened, and distributed 100 oral health supply kits to needy children in the Briquetterie neighborhood in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in partnership with community-based organizations. This showcased her ability to apply learned concepts to real-world challenges, delivering sustainable solutions that promise to enhance community health outcomes in Cameroon.
